The French leg of our International exchange programme took place on a rather Sunny week in April. 60 students and teachers joined the MINT team to take part in an action packed week on the theme of energy. Students gathered from France, Germany, Croatia and the UK meeting in Laval, France before setting off to sunny Blainville-Sur-Mare!
We had a busy plan for the week ahead and no one could wait to get started. Take a look at our action packed programme!
On our first day students came together to in mixed nation groups to play some co-opertation games. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughter. The start of some fantastic friendships!
Our second day we visited a wind turbine and learnt about alternative energy. We learn alot about energy production and how to save energy in our lives. We learnt that we can make better choices for the environment.
Wednesday saw us travel to the beautiful Mont-Saint-Michel for a day of tourism and fun! We had a great time walking over the vast bay to the island, stomping in quick sand and wading through tidal streams on the way! It was a great adventure! We followed this up with some leisure time in the city and a little sight seeing before the journey back to Laval.
On Thursday we had a science exchange. Students took part in lots of workshops at a local school and some students even visited a research laboratory. It was interesting but very complex! In the afternoon we prepared for our important conference before visiting local families for the evening. This was the highlight of the exchange!
Out Last together as a MINT Exchange we walked around the historic city of Laval before heading to the city buildings to present our thoughts on Energy in the EU. Our conference was held in a very formal confernece hall which was quite exciting! Soon after we headed to the Party room for dancing and Oscars!!! Then it was time for the big farewells!
We had an excellent exhcnage with fantastic activities and wonderful weather! We cant wait to meet again!
